“Scotland Loves Local” funding for Mull and Iona Art Trail

In December 2020, Visit Mull and Iona, the Destination Marketing Organisation of the islands, was delighted to receive funding from “Scotland Loves Local” to establish an Arts Trail and Website, bringing together the vibrant creative arts on Mull and Iona.

The Mull and Iona Arts Trail is designed to highlight where the cultural life of the islands can be found with the help of the Arts Trail map of the locations and venues that can be visited.  Both locals and visitors will be more informed on how to enjoy the arts throughout the whole of the islands, while enjoying spectacular scenery en route. The website also features an Artist Directory of the creative community who live and work on Mull and Iona, with contact information and where artists’ work can be viewed. The Events Listing will also help people discover and engage with the arts on offer. Visit Mull and Iona will support the Arts Trail project through its own promotions, to attract visitors to Mull and Iona, who appreciate the arts and cultural life of the islands.

The“ Scotland Loves Local” Fund is provided by the Scottish Government to support towns, settlements, and community/neighbourhood partnerships to deliver projects to promote their local place. The Fund is administered by Scotland’s Towns Partnership.  Visit Mull and Iona was delighted to receive the award which will support the lively arts communities on the islands.
