Tiroran Community Forest

Willow sculptures within the ruined township of Knockroy which sits within Tiroran forest.

These stunning willow figures were created as part of a community art project led by local willow weaver, Alexandra James, in collaboration with local residents. The sculptures are beautiful and really capture local history.

Forest residents also include our trio of willow Giant Heads who are placed up high on sycamore trees. Like nature spirits, these fine figures change with the seasons. They were created by Vision Mechanics, with the help of local children, at our community forest ownership celebration in June 2016.In 2018 artist Monica Haddock created the Flower Meadow installation of 500 flowers and in 2019 Woollen Woods, where the artist worked with local people and school children. Look out for details of new artist led projects.
