Tackle and Books

Tackle and Books celebrates our islands authors as well as holding a range of books on all things local and more.

Tackle and Books celebrates local authors. You will also find books about Mull, Scottish History, Scottish Novels, Natural History, the Scottish Islands and all Local Publications. We always get enjoyment from stocking the children’s area and there’s a great selection of children’s books with a Mull theme.

As a joint project to help raise funds for Tobermory the shop sells some of the most iconic photographs taken by Gordon Buchanan. Brought up on the Isle of Mull, Gordon is one of Britain’s best known wildlife photographers. Famous for many critically acclaimed documentaries, his outstanding photographs come from throughout the world.

The Tobermory Books Festival is designed to celebrate Mull’s place as Scotland’s Hebridean book capital. What better way could there be to spend a few days than in Scotland’s most beautiful small town listening to superb speakers and enjoying the best of Highland food. The festival takes place each year at the end of October.
