I’ve been a regular visitor to Mull over the last 20 years and now own Argyll House Self Catering and The Coffee Pot in Salen where I combine my love of baking with a passion for wildlife and landscape photography resulting in a unique experience on Mull. I love being outdoors and that exciting feeling of setting off for the day not knowing what you may see or where you’ll end up. By far my favourite encounter has to be with an Otter in the summer sunshine. After spending quite some time watching this little creature fishing, he decided to come ashore not far from where I was sat and curl up to sleep. The heat of the sun was quite something for Mull! Every 15 minutes or so, he’d wake up, dip himself in the Loch, return to the shore, dry off and return to sleep. It was as though he was cooling himself down in the pool before returning to the sun lounger! It is capturing moments like these knowing that the wildlife has been completely undisturbed that make them so special.
