Inc by Pippa

Pippa creates ocean themed prints that are inspired by Hebridean seas. She mainly works with linocut and stampmaking methods.
Pippa Garrard is printmaker who is passionate about marine wildlife and our oceans. She originally moved to the Isle of Mull in 2014 to work with the local marine conservation charity, the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust. In her spare time Pippa enjoys creating prints of marine animals to celebrate the amazing diversity of life found in the Hebrides. Most of her work are relief prints. To create these, first Pippa transfers her design onto linoleum type material. She then hand carves around the design to remove the negative space, leaving the main design raised. Ink is then applied to the block, which she transfers onto paper by laying the paper over and hand burnishing (applying pressure in circular motions). As each print is printed by hand, they are all slightly different, which adds to the charm of the piece. Pippa also takes commissions, so if you can’t find exactly what you are looking for please get in touch and she will be happy to help you.
