Charlotte is a ceramist- she makes both domestic ware and hand built “corrugated constructions” using coloured slips and earthen ware clay, fired to 1080 degrees in an electric kiln. She works in her studio near Tin Shed Gallery. Her bowls, of all sizes, show her passion for colour. Charlotte comes from a family of artists notably Margaret Mellis and Ann Stokes, She was trained at Harrogate College of Art and Design (Distinction) in 1981-83.
