Carla Lamont is a writer, performance poet and self-taught chef. Born in Canada, she came to the UK in 1994 to work in a hotel on the Isle of Iona and met her husband Jonny soon after. At their home, a croft near Fionnphort on Mull, they built the Ninth Wave restaurant and it opened in 2009. Publishing credits include The Ninth Wave: Love and Food on the Isle of Mull (2014 Birlinn Books) and The Body Banquet Poems (2000 Author House) and she was a quarter-finalist on Masterchef the Professionals 2021.
